GMO SOY - NON GMO

In Brazil, soy is one of the main items of agricultural production , being the second largest producer in the world and the largest exporter in the world, moving its agribusiness production chain. In the 2016/2017 biennium, the crop occupied an area of 33.890 million hectares, which totaled a production of 113.923 million tons, with the largest producing states being the states of Mato Grosso, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul .
Brazil could bet more on planting conventional soy (also known as free or non-GMO soy), to serve the export niche of non-GM products, which are more valued. To have an idea of the potential of this market, Europe has an annual demand of 2.7 million tons and China, of 5 million tons.
