SOY GMO - NON GMO

Soja NON-GMO #2.png

In Brazil, soy is one of the main items of agricultural production, being the second largest producer in the world and the largest exporter in the world, moving its agribusiness production chain. In the 2016/2017 biennium, the crop occupied an area of 33.890 million hectares, which totaled a production of 113.923 million tons, with the largest producing states being the states of Mato Grosso, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul.

Brazil could bet more on planting conventional soy (also known as free or non-GMO soy), to serve the export niche of non-GM products, which are more valued. To have an idea of the potential of this market, Europe has an annual demand of 2.7 million tons and China, of 5 million tons.
