Brazil has positioned itself in the last decades as one of the largest producers of sugar cane in the world and consequently one of the main producers of sugar, responsible for approximately 44% of global exports of this commodity.
Brazilian sugar importers seek, among other qualities, Icumsa 45 sugar, the English acronym Icumsa (International Commission for Uniform Methods of Sugar Analysis) determines the purity and degree of whiteness, the greater the number tied to Icumsa, the less refined this is. For example, brown sugar, known on the market as brown sugar, has the Icumsa 800 to 1600 rating.
The mills do not sell the product directly for export, large traders of this commodity acquire future production in advance and thus
