Importers of Brazilian sugar seek, among other qualities, Icumsa 45 sugar, the English acronym Icumsa (International Commission for Uniform Methods of Sugar Analysis) determines the purity and degree of whiteness, the greater the number tied to Icumsa, the less refined this is. For example, brown sugar, known on the market as brown sugar, has an Icumsa rating of 800 to 1600.
Mills do not sell the product directly for export, large traders of this commodity acquire future production in advance and so they negotiate in order to have material available
